4 wedding traditions in France

There are many traditions relating to marriage in France : some are spread over the whole country and others come from a particular region and are less well known …

There are wedding traditions like the tradition of the onion soup , the sweeper car , the garter and the chamber pot that everyone knows . By cons, some surprising regional customs are often unknown outside the department or area who practice them.

That is why we decided to do a little tour of France with local traditions you with some .

Vendee : the dance of brioche
It is a deeply rooted musical entertainment in the Vendee and is based on a dish typical of the region: the Vendee brioche.

She is married to slow dance under a big umbrella (or parasol, more elegant and more popular superstitious ) , given by the groom , while the guests throw their coils that have been previously distributed to them.

Why do we love ? This animation allows married to have a moment of complicity and intimacy by sharing this dance under the umbrella, while guests have fun and participate .

Basque Country: the paquito
The paquito is a musical animation is from the Basque Country and be practiced especially in the southwest of France.

The paquito runs as follows : guests sit one behind the other on the floor and sway back and forth to the rhythm of music, preferably played by an orchestra . Participants will then be brought to arm horizontally one after the other throughout the human line.

Why do we love ? Atmosphere and laughter guaranteed !

North : the game of wheelbarrow
This animation from the north is for the guests to bring a marriage tin taking care to remove the label around the box.

By early evening , the couple spend among the guests with a wheelbarrow and each of them will file the tin so that they have enough to feed surprise in the months following their wedding dishes !
